Ok so my boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years and he has a daughter that is almost 3 years old. We got together around the same time she was born. Since then we have had some BMD as far as her being jealous that he had moved on although she has had a new boyfriend the same amount of time. The BMD had settled down quite a lot for a while but now there is a new situation. BM is now pregnant by her new boyfriend. She has always been the type to not hold down a job and struggle to make ends meet. She recently asked my boyfriend to have his family help pay for his daughter's daycare. This is on top of the fact that half of his paycheck goes to child support and health insurance for the child, plus he gets her at least twice a week. I essentially think that by helping her pay for daycare he is helping pay for this new child she will be having. I don't think it should be his/his family's responsibility to pay for daycare when he already is on child support. The BMD is starting to make me rethink my decision to be with him. I need to know what should I do and should my boyfriend pay for the daycare?

If your boyfriend is already paying child support and health care for the child HE SHOULD NOT have to pay for the daycare too. Daycare should fall under child support. BM just needs to learn how to manage the money better. Also, why now is BM needing him to pay for daycare? Who kept the child before? Express your concern to your boyfriend, however, try not to stress about it too much because it really is his problem not yours. The sad part is that you're probably right about her intentions to use your boyfriend to help pay for her new child. If BM is struggling that much than maybe she needs to get on welfare because at least then she could probably get vouchers for daycare. I think you should try to hang in there with your boyfriend because he seems like a real dedicated father to his daughter and I'm sure you would want that kind of man to father your child someday.

actually depending on the state you live, child care is calculated above and beyond the child support order. if she takes him to court, he very well could be on the hook for a portion of the child care.

If there isn't a court order for him to pay daycare, or it isn't included in the CS pmts, dont pay anything. It will just be considered a gift. Make the BM take him to court for the money. Then if he is ordered to pay it, look on the bright side. The daycare expenses will end once the child is in school and he won't have to pay for daycare anymore.

My boyfriend son is 4 years old, and my boyfriend goes to baby mama house to watch his child, however sometimes baby mama will not return home until early morning. 5am which causes issues in our house hold I feel my boyfriend should watch his son at our home. I dont want to be unfair but I do think its important for my boyfriend to establish boundries with the baby mama

Um, there is so much wrong with that picture. Boyfriend comes home at 5am from baby mamas house because she 'didnt get in until then'. I dunno, just sounds suspect. Just sayin

If he wants to pay, it's his decision. BM can always go to court and have child support modified to include daycare expenses. At least they are communicating first and he is willing to provide for his child. Isn't that the kind of man you want to be a father to your children?
