Right now, I am dealing with my stepchild calling me "mommy" and just wanted to see who else is dealing with this right now and how people feel about this topic.

Let the child call you whtever he or she wants. I had deal with this card early in my relationship with my SO and his BM. I told my stepson that it probably wasn't the best idea to call me mommy (he was 2) and regret that bc I didn't want to hurt his mothers feelings or make her uncomfortable with me. By doing that I opened the door and allowed her to walk all over me. So I say let him or her call you whtever he or she is comfortable with.

I ,do, because it is what makes her happy. But when she slips up and calls me mommy around her bio mommy, BM flips out and takes it out on the child. I know this because when we have her for the week, she tells me stuff like "mommy says she carried me in her tummy and not that other woman, so stop calling her mommy because you have only one". Or "you make mommy cry when you call that other woman mommy", or "that woman took daddy away from us, so she doesn't love you, only your real mommy loves you, etc. etc. I see that it is causing her alot of stress and it concerns me.
