Something very similar happened to me. Its a pain in the a**.
How do they get the SS#s?

It's quite easy if you know the right people or have enough money. There are certain websites that, for the right amount of money, will give you access to cell phone numbers, home telephone numbers, previous and current addresses, relatives and neighbors addresses and phone numbers... you get the idea. With a little creativity, time and hard work it is possible to get a social security number.

Actually getting the SSN is not very hard if they have your Ins. card. Because most ins. company's use the cardholders SSN as the ID # and also most Dr. office will ask for the card holders SSN b4 the can bill for the service.You may have given her the SSN one time not realizing it coz she may have needed @ the Dr. office.

The SSNs are no longer on the insurance cards but she may have gotten it from the Doctors office.

Yes they are I work for an ins. company @ least some of them still do.
