my question is my situation. my girlfriend is a single parent of a nine year old girl. what i want to know is how many other people have had the experience of their girlfriend or boyfriends children doing simple stuff to push your buttons when their parent is not physically watching them. i say this because my girlfriend thinks that because her daugther does what she ask that she won't choose to do wrong when she's not around. and any educational information on situations like this is greatly welcome.

Do you tell her what her daughter does when she is not around?

That's really not good for you gf to day if its being said in front of her daughter. This matter should be discussed privately. If she doesn't want to hear you out then tell her that you can't watch her daughter along because she acts uncontrollable. She will either take her daughter with her everywhere or listen to your opinions.

I agree.
How long have you guys been dating? If GF doesn't take your word serious enough to even investigate it, I would see that as a red flag. Because as the daughter gets older and try to get her way with certain things (vs. Pushing your buttons for the sake of a reaction)) she'll notice how easy it is to pit you against and shell take full advantage.
What are some of the things she does?
