OK I have been with my Fiance for almost 4 years but we separated for about 6 months back in July of 2008. While we were separated, he slept with some woman and she ended up pregnant. He received a letter in the mail from Child Support about a Paternity testing which is scheduled for March 3rd. Him and I have 3 children together and we have been back together since Feb 2009. My question is, how do they determine child support payments? This woman thinks that she is going to take all his money and leave me with nothing to support my kids with him. I so dont want BBD but I am so afraid that this woman is gonna give me hell. I mean do the courts take into account how many children my Fiance has already prior to this child? Thank you for any and all input.

if he is the father they will take away 20% of his income. However since he already has children they might deduct the 20% to about 16%
this of course he will have to fight to lower the 20% that will be the initial percentage she is going to get via court

They don't leave you with nothing. They go by his income. Good luck sweetie.

You need to run down to the nearest Office of Family Support in your area and put your kids on child support first. That way, she will only get what is left over.

:)Yes maam, the court will take in consideration an already existing situation. The court mediates. So the judge has to be impatial and judge the situation accordingly. Hopefully you and Hubby dont slit nomore and this happens again. Be blessed cuz luck has nothing to do with it.
