Ladies, I need several opinions to read!

I'm newly married with a brand new baby. My hubby is in the process of getting his credit back on track. We get a call from his sons Pediatrician, saying that the BM hasn't paid a bill in a year. We've already told her to send the bill to us and we will take care of half (obligation of the court). The thing is, she has to give it to us in a timely manner...... NOT A YEAR LATER!!! She doesn't tell us when he goes to the doctor OR even when he goes to the emergency room...because she doesn't want to see me. Well, he's my stepson, PERIOD!! My husband isn't going to pacify her feelings just so WE can see our son. I appreciate that because most men would put the wife to the side to "keep peace". The Ped's office said that, because his insurance was used, it was about to be sent to collection's in both their names. I talked to the Ped's office and they understood and only charged US for the materials used and not the labor behind the visit. We took care of it and spared HER credit. She STILL doesn't seem grateful and hasn't said "Thank You"!! Recently, my S-Son had a 5th graduation and we weren't notified, only because she doesn't want her mother to see our new family OR is embarrassed for the school to see his father with a wife and another child. She is evil and we have visitation in the process. We already know that her attitude has rubbed off on him. The newer issue is that I am now pregnant with twin boys!!!! She, stupidly, feels that we will replace my S-Son with these boys and has started to tell my S-Son the same, as well as my hubby's family. Not his mom and dad, but the rest of them have ignorantly, started to feel sorry and have now started picking up my S-Son on the weekends, intercepting him from us and also invite's her to dinners that we no longer attend. What is a wife to do? Go to her? I really feel bad for my husband because he's fussed and said all that he needed to and they have ignored his request. I felt like it was because of me. What should I do?

Let me start off by saying that she will probably NEVER say thank you for ANYTHING you do. It's best to accept this fact early on and just move on.

Secondly, as the BF he should be able to contact the doctor's office and request SS medical records. He can also request to have a copy of all the medical bills forwarded to him directly so that you don't have to worry about her not handling business.

Next, if visitation is in the process that is the best option available to you. She will continue her tomfoolery until there is a court order mandating her to do otherwise. Even then you may still have problems. Make sure you document EVERYTHING.

Finally, you have to develop a tough skin when dealing with his family. Their feelings don't matter. The BM was there before you and if she had a good relationship with his family they are more likely to side with her. As wrong as it is it happens all too often.
