We are having a baby and the BM has been really nosy to the point where she found out the sex of our child. That was a private thing we only shared with a few people. You could also ask the folks that you shared this information with to please keep your information private. These folks could also be shared friends with the BM and "spilling the beans" about the gender of the baby. If you are aware that this is happening, you may want to stop sharing information with those folks in the future to keep down the drama.
