What kind of dad is Eddie Murphy? I’ll give you one guess.
It was proven months ago that Eddie Murphy is indeed the biological father of Melanie Brown’s (Scary Spice) baby daughter. However, Murphy has yet to have any kind of contact or relationship with his child and has no intention of ever doing so - at least until she’s much older. Why? He claims it’s a matter of principle - Mel tricked him into pregnancy.
Mel B apparently told Eddie, when they were dating, that she was using birth control - and well, maybe she was and maybe she wasn’t. Birth control isn’t always 100% AND I’m pretty certain there were TWO people involved in this relationship, so why is it up to the woman and only the woman to make sure the birth control is secure? I think Mr. Murphy should own up to his responsibilities in more way than one.
Let’s suppose Melanie did “trick” him into getting her pregnant by not using any birthcontrol. Um, is that the child’s fault? She’s here now, on this planet, in the flesh, so how can you deny your baby knowing her dad? How unbelievably selfish. Oh - and what about the fact that Eddie’s other children don’t get to know their half sibling? So not fair.
According to the Daily Mail:
The Nutty Professor star claimed 32-year-old Mel insisted she was on birth control, and revealed they only had sex three times, according to a US report. “What was supposed to be a casual relationship ended with her having his baby and taking him to court for millions,” a source told The National Enquirer.
Although Eddie accepts that Angel is his daughter, he has said that he won’t see the little girl, because he doesn’t want to set eyes on Mel. A source said: “He says he will have to wait until Angel is older before he can get to know her without any interference from her mother.”
Secrets behind the couple’s doomed three-month fling have been revealed in legal papers in which Eddie, 46, states that Mel allegedly asked him for a $9million (£4.5million) house, plus living expenses for 18 years in exchange for her silence while she was pregnant. But Eddie baulked at the demands and it is claimed he has since refused to see the baby and the Spice Girl.
Wow, ‘dad of the year.’ Little Angel will grow up soon enough and she’ll figure out that her bio dad had no desire to see her for the most selfish, ridiculous reasons. I hope Mel’s husband Stephen Belafonte is a wonderful father to Angel and that she grows up knowing that anyone can make a baby but it takes a real man to be a DADDY.
