I understand your frustration. It does not appear that you two get along too well, so I would not expect her to do anything for your child. Some people are just too foolish to care about anyone else but themselves. How did your daughter react? If your daughter did not raise a stink, I would not make a big deal of it. If your daughter was offended, just explain to her that her stepbrother's mom gave him the gift.
