So my SS is 4. He'll be 5 in April. So why is he not in school? Because by keeping him and the baby in daycare, BM will get the extra $$ for child care. meanwhile, SS will start school next year with kids who'll already have almost 2 years of socialization experience more than him. Great idea, keep your child back for the sake of money. BM is so pathetic and selfish it hurts my stomach.

Not to mention that she still tried to get $$ for school clothes for BOTH the two older children, even though only one is attending school.

Ok, thanks ladies, it isn't just me. Jaylady, that's EXACTLY what I said, boys already develop slower than girls, so why put him at even MORE of a disadvantage??? Tellit, the crazy thing is, public schools where I live have preschool classes. No need to pay. She even bought SS glasses "for school". Right. But good going with your DD, it sounds like she is on the right track x 50! Educated black females, nothing better. Jaylady, I don't like her much, either.

Ok I don't know if I'm missing something. But I have children in school and also have two stepdaughters. I don't know if it's by certain states but in order for a child to be eligible to start kindergarten they have to be the age of 5 before school begins. school. My friends daughter turned 5 on Sept 15 and they told her the cut off was Sept 1 so they had to wait a year to enroll her daughter. My daughter birthday is in April and had to wait to start her the that Sept when she already was 5. I know sometimes in daycare they will allow the old 5 years old to start a kindergarten class in daycare but that's also because they need to make room in different classes. Kindergarten is not a mandatory year. But like I always tell myself this situation is temporary a couple of more months and your SS will be in public school and hopefully that cost will go down but keep in mind he if the BM works he will have to pay child care for before and after school. We do! Good luck

well actually Imana is speaking of preschool. She thinks her SS should be in preschool before he starts kindergarten and i wholeheartedly agree.

The sad thing is, he's so smart, they all are. Why not cultivate it? These kids can do anything they want to do in life, and it's the parents job to make sure they get every opportunity available. it's so nice to see a mother put her own selfish desires above her child. I really can't stand this..........female dog.
