So we all know that the BMs are spiteful, bitter, and mean....
Are any of you dealing with a BM who is actually mentally ill? Or do you suspect it?
I am...just wondering about u guys.

Could be. She seems manic depressive to me. Ok one month (like has found the Lord) then the next month goes completely insane.

Check this disorder out....I just pulled it off the internet...I found it very interesting.
Histrionic Personality Disorder is a condition characterized by excessive emotionality and attention-seeking. This disorder is only diagnosed when these behaviors become persistent and very disabling or distressing.
I'm dealing with a Pathological Liar. Not just a BM who lies - one who lies about everything, anything and nothing. I've researched it a little and I kinda feel sorry for her. She's miserable and hates herself. We also suspect she has Munchausen Syndrome - which is a disorder in which you "make up illnesses". She has claimed to have had 3 or so surgeries and never did. My DH even help her out with their child and was none the wiser.
We're worried about the child (who is also "sick" a lot). We are keeping a list of his medicines that he's on, and my DH is talking with the drs just to make sure what he has is a real sickness.
In the whole scheme of things, text messages and phone calls are nothing when you have to worry about a child being "made sick" by his mom....

A lot of BM's have real emotional issues. You should suggest to the BD she go to counseling it may help.

She does need counseling however, making a suggestion to her would be like spitting in the wind. If she listened to anything we said I wouldn't need to be on this site.

The BM has not been tested for an illness, but her first child and her mother and sister have all been diagnosed as being bi-polar and take medicine for it daily. I am concerned if that will effect the child my BF and her share together. I understand this disease is hereditary and can be controlled with medicine. The BM has not shared whether she has been diagnosed or tested for the same illness, but she shares many of the symptoms.
